About this place
Deciding what to pour into your glass is part of the pleasure at BarTime. The bar's signature offering is a limited-edition fresh fruit cocktail, crafted to showcase the vibrant flavors of seasonal produce. Beyond this centerpiece, the repertoire spans more than 1000 cocktail styles, and guests are welcome to request a drink tailored to their palate—whether they are leaning toward sweet, crisp, or something in between.
The food menu is treated with equal care, designed to keep drinks company into the late hours. Savory plates like crunchy pork belly cartilage and thick-cut bacon are seared with a blowtorch before reaching the counter, lending them a fragrant char and juicy richness. Richer nibbles also abound, from house-made raisin butter steeped in rum and oven-warmed smoked oysters served with crackers to a potato salad touched with spicy pollack roe.
Across the back bar, the bottle selection ranges from Scotch and bourbon to Japanese whiskies, alongside Heartland draft beer and a variety of shochu. Tucked along an alleyway in Kyoto's Zaimokucho neighborhood, the bar opens at 20:00 in the evening and stays welcoming until 6:00 the following morning, making it an easy choice whether for a quiet solo nightcap or drinks with companions.
